Our Frodo lives over the ocean
Our Frodo dwells over the sea.
Our Frodo lives over the ocean
Oh please bring back Poor Frodo to me.
Bring back, oh bring back
Bring back poor Frodo to me, to me
Bring back, oh bring back
Bring back poor Frodo to me, to me
I am just a hobbit
Not what you'd consider 'bold'
I am known for my resistance
To a certain evil token that makes loyal friends
Take dangerous quests
Still this hobbit bears what he has to bear
Tho he longs to sit and rest
mmMmmmmm....
When I left my home at Bag End
I was only fifty-one
In the company of my friends
Through the quiet trees and greenways, running scared
Laying low, seeking out the unused pathways
Where the ragged Rangers go
Looking for the places only they would know
Lie la lie ... Seeking to reach Rivendell
Running from the Wraiths
But I get further
Than the burned-out ring of Amon Sul, they waylay me
I do declare, there were times when I was so afraid
I was going to die there
mmMmmmmmmm... Lie la lie ...
Then I'm laying here in Imladris
And thinking I am home...
I'm not home
I've been dreaming that the task was done
The Ring undone... going home In the clearing stands a Hobbit
And a gardner by his side
And he carries the reminders
Of the very blow that layed him down
And cut his skin and poisoned him
Hold your breath to hear him say:
"I will take it, I will take it
But I do not know the way."
mmMmmmmmmmm....
Lie la lie ...
Sung to the tune of Davy Crockett
Frodoooo, Frodo Baggins, Ringbearer of the Shire.
Born in the Shire to the west of Bree,
Greenest place in the land of the free
Raised in the woods, so's he know ev'ry tree
Swiped him a 'shroom when he was only three
Frodoooo, Frodo Baggins, Ringbearer of the Shire.
Innocent and cheerful down to his core
Till Uncle Bilbo left him that Ring fer shore
While he was handling this risky chore
Made himself a legend forevermore
Frodoooo, Frodo Baggins, Ringbearer of the Shire
Went off to Rivendell and served a spell
Fixing up the Council and elves as well
Took, Gamgee, Brandybuck, so I hear tell
They went with him, and some others as well
Frodoooo, Frodo Baggins, Ringbearer of the Shire.
He give his word and he give his hand
That Ring he would carry right out o' the land
The rest of his like he took the stand
That justice was due every hobbit and man
Frodoooo, Frodo Baggins, Ringbearer of the Shire.
When he came to Doom, his travelin' past
The Western Alliance was bein' trashed
But he picked up his feet and the Ring he flashed
He lit out grinnin' to follow the ash
Frodoooo, Frodo Baggins, Ringbearer of the Shire.
Had a hard time up on that ashy hill
Sam and Gollum both were a-followin' still
He couldn't quite do it, the Ring to kill
Got his finger bit off - kinda makes you ill
Frodoooo, Frodo Baggins, Ringbearer of the Shire.
He heard of the fading and the elves and so
Back to the Havens he just had to go
Fightin' for his peace was a difficult row
So, resting at last, he leaned across the bow.
Frodoooo, Frodo Baggins, Ringbearer of the Shire.
Oh, once in the fields of a farmer hobbit,
Frodo, he knew how to rob it -
Just a lad, but he had,
Quite a taste for that treat!
Chorus:
He's hungry for some mushrooms,
He was! He was!
And Farmer Maggot had the best,
The finest 'shrooms in Shirelands.
Away, away,
He needs to run much faster!
Away, away,
Run away! Here he comes!
Oh that Maggot knew how to make him stop,
Caught young Frodo with his crop -
Told his dogs, they could eat,
Baggins up - every drop!
Years later, grown Frodo did quake and shake,
For Pip had them Maggot's wat to take.
Run away! Here he comes,
With his dogs! How they bark!
Oh, he wished he were safe with Farmer Cotton,
Farmer Maggot's not forgotton.
Run away! Run away!
Here he comes with his dogs!
But Maggot, he runs a fine old farm,
Took them in and kept them warm.
Wagon ride, by his side,
And at need -- quite a friend. to take.
Run away! Here he comes,
With his dogs! How they bark!
Oh, he wished he were safe with Farmer Cotton,
Farmer Maggot's not forgotton.
Run away! Run away!
Here he comes with his dogs!
But Maggot, he runs a fine old farm,
Took them in and kept them warm.
Wagon ride, by his side,
And at need -- quite a friend.
Busted flat on Mt. Doom, waiting for a bird
And I’m feeling nearly as ragged as my clothes
Sammy thumbed an eagle down just before fire rained,
It flew us all the way to the king.
I pulled my gold ring out my dirty velvet pocket,
I was feeling weak and claimed it for myself
Gollum's teeth snapped on time, that gold ring wasn't mine,
We laid down to wait our firey end through.
Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose,
Nothing don’t mean nothing honey if it ain’t free, now now.
And bearing it was easy, Lord, but now I got the blues,
You know losing it was hard enough for me,
I'd be dead but for the bird and Sammy Gamgee.
From the Hobbiton sunshine to Mordor's eternal dark,
Hey, Sammy shared the secrets of my soul.
Through all kinds of weather, through everything that we done,
Hey Sammy Gamgee kept me from the cold.
One day thanks to Shelob, Lord, I nearly slipped away,
He went looking for me and didn't he just find me,
But I’d trade all of my tomorrows for one single yesterday
To be smoking pipes with Sammy by the fire.
Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose,
Nothing, that’s all that gold ring left me, yeah,
But feeling good was easy, Lord, when Sammy cheered my blues,
Hey, losing it was hard enough for me
I'd be dead but for the bird and Sammy Gamgee.
La la la, la la la la, la la la, la la la la
La la la la la Sammy Gamgee
La la la la la, la la la la la
La la la la la, Sammy Gamgee, la.
La La la, la la la la la la,
La La la la la la la la la, hey now Bobby now Sammy Gamgee yeah.
Na na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na na na na na
Hey now Sammy now, Sammy Gamgee.
Lord, I’m calling my best friend, calling my Sam,
I said I’m calling my best friend just the best I can,
C’mon, where is Sammy now, where is Sammy Gamgee, yeah,
Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lord
Hey, hey, hey, Sammy Gamgee, Lord!
Yeah! Whew!
Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lord
Hey, hey, hey, Sammy Gamgee.
