Love this painting on what appears to be a European children's version of The Hobbit.  Very cheerful. The middle may be from the late 1980's and bears a panorama of Rivendell by Ted Nasmith.  The last is the 1968 first official issue from Ballentine with the "bulbous fruit" and emus that Tolkien disliked so much.  Update: below these are images of the other two portions of the illustrated Hobbit that the first one is from. An adapted graphic novel, It was published by Eclipse in 1989.
