Who Fears To Speak?

Who fears to speak of courage?
Who fears to speak of love?
And silent sits among the crowd
When warlike deeds are told
Who never conjures up the past
Nor sings the feats of old
Yet remembers him.

A beacon on the darkest night
When not a star is seen.
Seeking still the land of fire
Where none had ever been
Better him than us they think
Place all the world between.

Mark the road that once he took
When all the world turned grey.
Each tree and stone seen through the tears
The time he went away.
All down the ways and down the years
He most deserved to stay.
