On Tired Wings

On tired wings you take flight
Wind whispers of the silent night
Slipping stones beneath your feet
Aware of shadows you might meet

The burden is heavy and you're not strong
Light is failing and paths are deadly wrong
For passing into Darkness you must fly
Tears streak your face but you mustn't cry

Now you find yourself all alone
Where is Frodo, Where has he gone?
Hushed voices behind a closed door
Leave you weeping upon cold floor

But you must find him, you cannot fail
The Light fades and Darkness prevail
Cold is stone and foul is the air
But mind wanders to all that's fair

Struggling in the deepening gloom
You are brave to fight to your doom
Footsteps silenced by failing breath
Wind is faint but heavy is Death.
