Shelob's Dream

- Shelob

I dream of the Light,
It pierces like a knife.
There is pain,
Blood drips from my wound.
I awake,
I am hungry,
The creature promised.
I hear footsteps in the tunnel,
Food at last.
I crawl up the dark hall,
Two juicy morsels, good,
I bite hard.
My poison slays him.
Suddenly, my dream is real,
Fierce warrior's light blinds me.
Sharp blade cuts deep.
I turn in unseeing despair,
Creeping, slowly back,
Into the darkness of my lair.
