A Cry in the Wind
From Tolkien - BOTH "Together we will take the road that leads into the
west, and far away will find a land where both our hearts may rest"
Wandlimb, the light-footed, stepping
gently through the spring time of years.
Growing lovely gardens meant to be,
quiet places of rest, to still all fears.
In the years of starlight they've tended all,
the fields of grain and flowers.
While Treebeard loved the forest tall,
tho' both required rain's misty showers
Years of splendor disappear, Entwive's land,
forever, burned by fire to ashes.
Her footsteps vanish with the wind,
of summer's storms and lightning's flashes.
I will wait for you forever as the ages slowly pass,
Til' we meet again in autumn, and together, travel West.
