A Poem for Pippin

Inspired by Billy Boyd's angelic song in ROTK, one of my favorite movie scenes

Upon the world like a child you look
My dear sweet hobbit, Peregrin Took
But now these eyes so startling green
Too much evil they have seen

Your hands lie on the hilt of a sword
As you swear faelty to a broken Lord
Kneeling before an empty throne
And wishing you were back at home

Full of sorrow is your tender heart
From your loved ones you’ve been torn apart
In these halls of stone you do not belong
Yet holding back tears you sing a song

Your singing sets free a flood of tears
And I share with you all your fears
No hobbit should be so broken and sad
I wish you were happy again my lad
