Frodo and His Lonely Burden

He carried it from his home,
Through mountains, hills and plains,
The burden just got heavier,
As it got closer to it’s home.

For the fate of all mankind,
He risked his life and loved ones,
With only the thought of failing,
But he gathered hope from all mankind.

To smell the sweet apple cider,
In the autumn in the Shire,
As he entered home,
He was welcomed by sweet cider.

To watch his best friend carry on,
And get married to a lass,
Made him happy, and heart broken,
As he thought, can I ever carry on?

He said goodbye at the Havens,
When he was leaving now,
To carry on to Valinor,
And see Sam, crying at the Havens.
