Crystal Imperishable

- Primula
For Gimli and Galadriel

So many lands I’ve looked upon,
Full treasures I have seen,
I never thought beneath these boughs
That I should find a Queen.

What are you, that undoes me so?
True form and beauty rare,
My artist’s heart full overflows –
‘Tis more than I can bear.

For this I will release my words,
Spoke ill against your kind –
Bestow upon me one last gaze
To burn within my mind.

I’ll never speak of beauty bright,
Of gems or metals fair,
For I’ve seen treasures darken, dim,
Beside your glorious hair.

O gold and silver’s sweetest light;
The moon and sun entwined,
In crystal never perishing,
Heart’s treasure safe by mine.
