Treasures Most Precious

Silver is the starlight
Falling from above
And golden is the brilliant sun
Light up the day

Silver is found wherever you would look
And gold, they say, is best when delved below ground
But look all around and the colours say it best
Nature is our rainbow, they have passed the test

Emerald is the tall green grass
That feed the racing steeds
And sapphire is the bluest bird
As a peacock struts and preens

Pearl is most obvious
Shrouded in its house
With diamonds sprinkled in the morn
As dew upon the land

Rubies are the roses
That grow in golden light
And topaz is the water
That falls into the night

We need not look below our feet
To find treasures dear
We need only open our eyes
And see our treasures near
