In The Peaceful Years

- Lothithil

All my life, I have been blessed
Though hardship not unknown
Of parents was I early bereft
But not of their love shown

Home and friends I have everywhere
Fire and bread when I wander
I am free to walk from Here to There
Or sit with my books and ponder

Of distant lands my ears have heard
Of Adventure, travel, and treasures
But I think in me the wanderlust is cured
Or that I have it in small measure

One day, perhaps, when restlessness returns
And autumn fades to winter rains
I'll seek the distant lands of which I've heard
And maybe find dear Bilbo once again
