As Above, So Below

- Lothithil
A DarkElf 1st Age Poem

From Ulmo's kingdom I emerge
My clothes are stiff with sand and salt
Toward the forest I am flying
Eager for a glimpse of green life
I ache for the smell of pine and juniper
More precious than ambergris to me
Mossy toes of the ancient oak
Granite limbs with lichen dressed
Like coral growing and living
A wealth of life between root and leaftip
Pearls strung upon a spinner's webs
Feel the undulating tide of trees dancing
Squirrels sport in those waves

Two worlds I know
They no longer divide my mind
For in the forest is my home
But the sea roars in the conch of my heart
