Strange Advice from a Strange Place

Unheeded, unfortunately ...

A cloak he was given of red
Looked so good it went straight to his head.
Heard a voice from 'somewhere'
"Elf, you better beware
Do not wear it!" the 'somewhere' voice said.

"From the future I am," he did hear,
"And that color is fey, I do fear
I wore shirt of red,
And real quick I was dead,
Phasered down by some scum from the rear.

"Unless you're the Cheif Engineer,
Wear not red, like your cloak or you'll hear,
Your last orders be said,
'Cause that blasted cloak's red,
And for Pete's sake, watch out for your rear!"
