A found poem taken from a passage in FOTR, "The Mirror of Galadriel"


Your quest is known to us;
Not in vain will it prove, seeking aid.

The Lord of the Galadhrim, wisest of Elves,
Giver of gifts beyond the power of kings,
Since days of dawn dwelt in the West --
And I with him years uncounted.

Ere the fall of Nargothrond or Gondolin
I passed over the mountains;
Together through ages of the world
We have fought the long defeat.
