Song

- jan-u-wine

Sometimes,
even now,
I wonder
if

it were all true.

Sometimes,
when the dark
gathers
too close,
and shadow
touches

shadow
within the night-dreaming
study,

sometimes,

I wonder.

A strange storm
kept me within
today.

From the West it was,

all silver rain

and ice,
like jewel'd blades
hung upon the trees.

And the very voice of it

sang

and sighed

upon the roof,

and wound,
like memory itself,
through my waking dreams.

Then I knew:
I need not wonder.

For it was

you

I heard,

singing

beyond the edge of the World,

your voice
sure

and steady
amongst all the music
that lives

before and beyond
that curtain.

I heard you,

calling to the Stars
and the Sea

(as ever you did),

calling them by name,

as one calls
who greets
a friend,

Joy

rising into voiced silence.

It is a Song
that speaks of safe harbours….

blue-green lying
deep and quiet
upon
peaceful shores….

a  Song of ageless Springs

and  Starlight,

undimmed,
unchanged,

unburdened

by time or care.

It is a Song

of one who is
Home.
