The Birth of Nahar
In actual fact I have no idea who
Nahar's parents were, and it is extremely unlikely that the were the
sun and the West wind, particularly since he was around before the sun
was made, but ah well... it sounded good.

Out of the West-wind,
Sired by the sun,
Foaled in the dawning
Of a world new-begun.
Sure-stepping silver,
In sunlight arrayed,
Valiant danced
In a morning new-made.
Beautiful, war-worthy,
Wild and proud,
O'er lands yet unwoken
His hooves thundered loud.
Great steed of the Valar,
Mighty in song,
Quicksilver and lightning
When the old gods were strong.
Out of the West-wind,
In a world new-begun,
Nahar the avenger,
Swift colt of the sun!
