A Last Elf Poem
The waves whispered your words to me
While I stood gazing at the sea
That our time here on this shore line
Was something now we must consign.
But then the trees spoke to my heart
Enticing me to not depart
That I should stay and walk there still
Something I always thought a thrill.
So now I’m caught between the two
Not knowing which of them to do
For while I love my kindred dear
My heart also holds the trees near.
