A Last Elf Poem

While I was standing alone on this distant grey shore
And gazing sorrowfully over the deep blue sea
I was wondering if my kindred in Valinor
Were even now at this moment remembering me.

For I was the one who in vain they tried to implore
To take the last ship with them and sail over the sea
But in my heart I still longed for these woods on this shore
And now all I can do was hope they remember me.
