A Lament for Boromir
- Dinledhwen & Silivren Ithildin
When I heard the Horn of Gondor
Echoing deep amongst the trees
I knew your need for help was great
Our most courageous Boromir!
So, quickly through the woods I ran
My fear growing with each step
But, I arrived too late to help
Our most courageous Boromir!
Now I downed that evil archer
Finishing that which you could not
With three arrows now within you
Our most courageous Boromir!
If only I were here sooner!
Then you would be standing there now
With the little ones by your side
Our most courageous Boromir!
But, alas, I was not able!
So here you lie amongst the dead
And soon I fear you will join them
Our most courageous Boromir!
Know this my friend before you go
That the little ones I will save
Nor will I let the White City fall
Our most courageous Boromir!
I see that death has claimed you now
To take you away from our city
And the call of the Tower Guard
Our most courageous Boromir!
So, onward I will continue
Not knowing what strength is in me
But, your death will not be in vain
Our most courageous Boromir!
