For Sparky the Balrog from Mervyn

I'm falling in the void
And I'm really quite relieved.
This brave old man has saved me
From getting really peeved.

I never could have caught them,
They run away too fast.
And anyway, after the bridge
No way I could have passed!

The passages are narrow and
The ceilings very low.
Those stairs could just accommodate
The fire from my big toe!

They would have flown in any case,
But now my face is saved.
I'm falling in the void and thinking:
Well done old man, well played!!
