The Light of Valinor
Radiant leaves of silver and gold
Light so pure, joy to behold
Flowed down upon the Blessed Land
And sparkled on the yellow sand.
Its mingling light on the shores of the sea
Uplifts the heart so joyfully.
Laurelin the gold and Telperion the white
Shone in the earth's dark twilight.
Yet those trees died at Morgoth's hands cold
Only the Silmarils carried the light of old
In ages passed, now long forgotten
Great wars for the shining jewels were faught
Yet one was cast in the depts of the sea
The other thrown in an abyss so deep
Only one yet remains of that light none could mar
Held aloft in the sky as a brilliant star.
