Essay by Twilight Maiden

I'm first and foremost a fan of the movies. I had read "The Hobbit" as a young teenager and loved it. But when I saw the Fellowship of the Ring movie, I went home enthusiastically with the inspiration to finally read all of my "Middle Earth" books. All four books had been a gift from my uncle and he was definately a Tollkien fan. I've always loved fantasy and sci-fi but these movies had the best of everything rolled into one. A compelling story, fabulous scenery, stunning music and great acting. Everything was so realistic and beautiful that I felt I wasn't watching a movie but I was actually in MIddle Earth! PJ deserves so much praise for the care and devotion he's poured into the making of these movies. If that doesn't deserve an Oscar, I don't know what does!

I regret I haven't taken more time to get to know the other fans here, for it seems that you all have great praise for each other. I do love knowing there are other people in the world who feel the same way I do about a few movies and the books that inspired them! Thanks!
